French Foreign Minister Jean-Nowl Barrot told France Inter radio: “is not questioned for the EU to allow other countries in the world, whoever they are, to attack its sovereign borders”.
He added that although he did not believe the US “would invade” Greenland “we've entered an era that is seeing the law of the strongest”.
At an hour-long press conference Tuesday, Trump refused to rule out using the military force to take up the Panama Channel and Greenland, and suggested he intended to use “economic force” to make Canada part of the US, writes The Guardian, broadcast the Express newspaper.
His eldest son Donald Trump Jr flew to Greenland's capital, Nuuk, a visit he called private shortly after Donald Trump's statements. He stayed several hours and said he does not intend to meet with government officials.
Last month Trump, who takes office on January 20th, said the US's control over Greenland was a “absolute misappropriity “for the economic security” of America.
Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark's Kingdom but given rulership in 1979, has informed Trump that it is not for sale.
Mette Frederiksen, Danish Prime Minister and Múte Egede, Greenland's prime minister, have both said that he is hanged by the Greenlandns to decide their future.

Barrot also urged the EU to resist threats from Elon Musk against a number of European leaders, particularly Germany's Social Democrat Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“If the European Commission does not know how to protect us from this intervention or these intervention threats, then it should give member states, including France, the ability to protect itself”, Barrot said.
