Finland's ambassador to Kosovo, Matti Nissinen, has declared that the EU has been committed and has offered opportunities to advance the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
Nissinen says there must be solutions to the issue of association and expects concrete results.
He even said that the international community has offered better expertise, better legal advice, as well as draft solutions on how to resolve association.
“As I said, the EU has been very committed and has provided all the tools and opportunities to advance the dialogue process, and equally important is the cooperation we have with American partners. I want to believe that this will continue, and we all have the same goal of solving the problem and opening up full potential. I would rather see this as a joint dedication that political readiness here in the region is the key element in the solution
I think it's a clear commitment, clearly stated in the agreement. This is something the international community has encouraged, and I think it is an issue that should be discussed in Brussels with the new leadership, and that they will find a way to move forward. But it is clear from the fact that all parts of society have the potential to be part of the multi-ethnic state of Kosovo. This is the starting point and they think that as soon as we can find solutions to issues like Association, we can move forward. As you mentioned, many years have passed and I personally expect concrete results so that we can see those positive elements that Kosovo deserves. These are the things we all want to see. The international community has offered better expertise, better legal advice, drafts of solutions on how to resolve this task of Association. I believe the elements are there, and now it's a matter of pushing things forward, and I hope that these will be done as soon as possible, the better the” has declared Nissinen.
