This has been disclosed by the Kosovo Police, who have announced that to manage the security situation during the holiday season of the end of the year and for the New Year, it has drafted and implemented an operational order to increase security and police presence in locations or facilities where there are expected to be greater concentration or presence of citizens during celebrations.
Focusing on this operational order, in addition to maintaining order and public safety, has been surveillance and control in road traffic, management of border points, including international airport.
“Based on reports accepted by Regional Police Directors, New Year's Night, changing weathers, has been largely smoothed through with several different cases, but fortunately no cases of fatal consequences have been reported, although several incidents of bodily injury have been reported in some regions, and material damage as a result of the careless use of pyrotechnic devices.
Several cases of general danger may be isolated: fire in place, bodily injury, illegal weapons and, in consultation with the prosecutor, police have initiated cases of treatment and competence to further legal law.“, it says on the police announcement.
