EULEX welcomes 5th specialised security unit during Kosovo elections

According to the media report, these police -- coming from the EUROGANDFOR forces provided by France's National Gendarmerie, Italy's Karabiniers, Lithuania Public Security Service and Portugal's Republican National Guard -- will work with the Specialised Police Unit (NJPS) provided by Poland Police to fulfil the mission's mandate to support stability throughout Kosovo and ensure security for all communities during the upcoming general elections, said the announcement.
“EULEX acts as the second security responser in Kosovo under the three-level security responseors, where Kosovo Police are the first security responser, E ULEX is the second and the NATO-led KFOR mission is the third”, said further in EULEX's announcement.
