EU comes up with one request, calls on Kosovo's Parliament for adoption of the Bill through which the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church is regulated

And for the Serbian Orthodox Church bill, we call for adoption of the Law for Religious Freedom. This law is in the interest of all communities and we invite the Parliament deputies to support the adoption of the” law, she said.
Kosovo and Serbia in the Ohrid Agreement have agreed that the parties will formalise the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
“Pales will formalise the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and offer strong level of protection for Serbian religious and cultural heritage sites, in line with existing European models”, Article 7 of the February 27th 2023 agreement said.
Chief Parliamentary Glauk Konjufca had spoken on the issue in March 2023, saying that the Serbian Orthodox Church cannot become of special status.
He had said that the secular state of Kosovo has “the equivalent of any religious community in Kosovo”, including the Orthodox one.

However, Konjufca had said that “status would be defined as missing”.
