EU offers 140m euros in humanitarian aid to Ukraine

“Finance is intended to help provide food, housing, clean water, health care and winter protection for vulnerable populations in war-torn areas”, the commission said in a press release.
The Commission estimates that some 12.7 million Ukrainians need urgent assistance.
Neighboring will receive an additional 8m euros to support Ukrainian refugees in health care and education.
The new “Pack takes the total of humanitarian aid granted by the European Commission to over 1.1 billion euros”, says the press release.
The announcement comes as EU Crisis Commissioner Hadja Lahbib visits Ukraine, where she is expected to meet with Ukrainian President Wolfymyr Zelensky.
