Voters registered abroad will have the opportunity to vote before citizens living in Kosovo for the February 9th general elections. The period of voting for the registered diaspora will begin on January 9th and end on February 8th, 31 days.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi shows that Germany leads with the largest number of recorders for the February 9th elections.
The two states with the largest number of registered voters are Germany with 44,774 voters and Switzerland with 27,248 registered voters. Several other countries, such as France, Sweden, Austria, Italy, the United States of America, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Finland, follow. All these states make up the 10 states with the largest number of registered voters outside Kosovo for the election process in our country”, he says.
There are a total of 104,924 fellow countrymen who will be able to vote for parliamentary elections.
Many of them will vote in Kosovo's diplomatic representations, meanwhile, the others will send ballots to the CEC postage box.
The largest number have those who are registered to send the ballot via mail, rather than voters in diplomatic representation.
“From the total number of registered voters outside Kosovo, which is 104.924 of whom, 20.399, registered physically to one of the diplomatic representatives of the Republic of Kosovo on February 8th, while another 17.104 citizens are registered to send ballot packages to the Kosovo Central Election Commission post office address and the largest number of 67.421 voters are registered to send the ballot package to any of the CEC's mailbox that will be opened outside Kosovo<56, says Erez.
According to Elez, these data are part of the final ballotation report for the Kosovo Parliamentary Assembly Elections, showing that during the 120-day period for voter registration outside Kosovo (29 August 29th, 2024) registered 104 thousand and 924 voters outside Kosovo.
According to the CEC, all citizens who are registered for voting outside Kosovo will find their name only on the Voter List outside Kosovo, meanwhile, their names are removed from the Voter List, which is distributed in polls on Election Day.
