BBC: Up to 10,000 troops could be sent to the US-Mexican border

BBC late last night reported that 1,500 American troops were being deployed at the southern border, where they would help establish barriers, but would not be included in “implementing the law”. But, BBC today reports an update on this figure now with an internal memo [written document] of the government, seen by the American BBC partner, CBS News, which suggests that as many as 10,000 troops can be deployed.
The Customs and Border Protection Memo dates back to January 21st, a day after the inauguration of Trump ) and shows a plan to send <x0.1000 soldiers to aid the agency. The initial 1,500-strong increase, which will be sent to San Diego in California and El Paso in Texas, will join 2,500 soldiers already stationed at the border.
This memo also states that US Department of Defence bases can be used as “maintenance targets” for migrants waiting to be deported.
A few hours after he was sworn in as president, Trump declared a national emergency on the border with Mexico, saying that the “the Sovietity of America is under attack”.
Emigration was a key promise of Trump's campaign he has made repeated promises to close the border and boost implementation.
