Association, Lajcak: Nothing bad or threatening for Kosovo will emerge from sending draft to Constitutional

The EU's special outgoing emissary for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has expressed full confidence in the Constitutional Court of Kosovo in relation to the draft association state. He has again invited Kosovo institutions to send the draft Association of Serb-run municipalities to Constitution.
Lajcak has estimated that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo is the Guardian of the Constitution of Kosovo and would never harm the Constitution.
“As a first step, we proposed to Kosovo the sending of the European Bill-Status to the Constitutional Court, as envisioned with the 2015 Brussels Agreement and also requested by the Constitutional Court of Kosovo itself. As you know, establishing the Association of Serb majority municipalities is a long-standing and still incomplete duty of Kosovo under international law. This obligation has existed since before the Agreement on the Road to Normalisation and stems from the First Brussels Agreement (of 2013), which was voluntarily linked by the Kosovo government. It is important to understand that nothing bad or threatening for Kosovo could emerge from the carrying of the European Drift-Stitut to the Constitutional Court. Constitutional Court is a Guardian of the Constitution of Kosovo, and for that reason it would never decide in a way that would harm Kosovo's Constitution”, Lajcak said.
He has indicated that with the submission of draft status to Constitution, Kosovo would benefit greatly.
“Instead, the support of the European Drift-Stitut and sending it to the Constitutional Court would be a small step that, in exchange, would produce significant benefits for the people of Kosovo, such as recognising Kosovo documents from Serbia.”, Lajcak told Nacional.
