So stated US Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy after a meeting with BiH Presidency member Denis Becirovic.
“I reiterated the United States' commitment to opposing anti-Dayton activities and reaffirmed the steadfast commitment of the United States to Bosnia and Herzegovina's territorial integrity, sovereignty and multiethnic character,” said Murphy.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina the RS entity marked January 9th, RS's unconstitutional day, despite warnings from the OHR, Brussels and Washington.
RS's unconstitutional day marked despite warnings from OHR, Brussels and Washington
In previous decisions of the Constitutional Court, it was said that Republika Srpska's right to celebrate the Republic Day was not disputed, but it could not be January 9th, because that date “is not acceptable to all citizens”.
Authorities in RS mark the date as the day of the founding of Republika Srpska.
Representatives of Bosniaks and Croats did not participate in the adoption of the declaration, and these two people see January 9th as the beginning of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the beginning of ethnic cleansing, war crimes and genocide against the non-Serb population. / REL
