An American Airlines plane with 60 passengers and four crew members crashed into an American Army helicopter with three soldiers aboard while trying to land at the national airport.
Both planes crashed into the Potomac River.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the impact took place around 9:00 when American Airlines's 5342th flight a regional plane that was launched from Wikipedia, Kansas crashed into an army helicopter as it approached an airport track. The crash occurred in some of the most controlled and monitored air spaces in the world, just over three miles south of the White House and Capitol.
