Over 34,600 euros seized for polling packages, the CEC delayed announcement of signing the contract

Over 34,600 euros, Central Election Commission and - The CEC contracted to supply packages for the February 9th 2025 elections. The contract was signed with 28.10.2024, but the CEC took more than two months to prepare and publish the signing notice.

The CEC announced that the contract was signed by „E-procure“with 10,01.2025, while this electronic procurement platform was released on 13,01.2025.

Otherwise, with the Law on Public Procurement, the Article 41/A, it says, quote: „Autority such contractors within two (2) days after signing such a contract, will prepare the announcement for signing the contract in the Czech languages in Article 13 of this law...”.

This issue is also regulated with public procurement regulation in Kosovo, in Article 45.35.3 respectively, which says that a public contract has entered into force, the procurement official within two days after signing such a contract, will prepare the announcement to sign the contract using the proper form.

In this case, KALLXO.com has tried to get answers from the CEC, but until the moment this article was published, we haven't received answers.

Through the contract worth 34,633 euros, amount is purchased from 9,000 pieces of school pencils, pencil sharpeners, rulers, scissors, black margins, swimming post, toilet paper, string-conop roll.

90,000 blue chemical pieces are also purchased, and 18,000 plastic bags for packing.

For this provision, the CEC had used the open procurement procedure, with criteria for granting the contract the lowest price.

We recall that the Kosovo Assembly elections are expected to be held at 09.02.2025.
