17 murder for a year in Kosovo

The year 2024 has marked a significant decline in violent crimes in Kosovo, according to statistics by Kosovo Police.
The number of murders has suffered a decline of 41.38%, ranging from 29 cases in 2023 to 17 cases in 2024 that we left behind.
In addition to the killings, several other criminal acts have suffered significant reductions:
- Robbery has dropped by 11.03%, down from 3844 cases to 3420.
- Heavy thefts have suffered a 23.37% drop, down from 2555 cases in 1958.
- Robbery has dropped by 13.85%, down from 81 cases to 70.
- Smuggling with goods has suffered a 33% drop, down from 84 cases to 56.
Meanwhile, domestic violence has marked a 6.04% increase, exceeding 2251 cases in 2387.
On the positive side, the efficiency of the rule forces has increased. The number of arrests has increased by 5.7%, while the seizure of weapons has increased by 23.3%, reaching 1586 confiscated weapons.
Also, more 16.56% of the ordinance has been realised, while the seizure of ammunition has dropped by 19.1%.
