17 thousand and 500 euros fine against Ferizaj municipal official and a businessman, three others acquitted of prosecution

 The Foundation Court in Ferizaj on Wednesday has declared a conviction against four Ferizaj municipal officials and a businessman, who were accused of corruption and other criminal acts. To indictees Fehmi Reka, Bahri Xhemajli, this court has declared a criminal act, while defendants Arberie Bekteshi, Arbnora Sejdiu and Hajrushu have cleared them of the charges.

The trial was announced by the chairman of the panel, Ilir Bytyqi, reports “The Justice Vow”.

Under the trial, the defendant Reka for criminal work “Kestum use of official position or authority” has been sentenced to prison sentences of six months, which with the consent of the same has been replaced in fine sentences of 5 thousand euros.

While accused Xhemajli of criminal work “Counterfeiting the documents” has been fined at a rate of 12 thousand and 500 euros, while being released for criminal work “Kestum use and public procurement fraud in co-ordination”.

Meanwhile, the accused Bekteshi, Sejdiu and Leka have been acquitted of criminal acts “due to the use of official position or authority in co-ordination”, as it has not been proven that the same have committed this criminal act.

In this case, the accused has also been businessman Altin Xhemajli, who has already been sentenced to 20,000 euros in fines, since the procedure against him was isolated.

Otherwise, on January 15, 2024, they have been declared innocent of criminal acts.
