The year 2024 started for Kosovo citizens with free visa movement in European Union countries.
The large number of travelers marked during January has scared Kosovo businesses.
The large influx of citizens to the west is expected to bring about the escape of the workforce.
That's what Aryan Vranica is saying from the Gastronomial Association.
The lack of workers is being observed in the gastronomy sector and the construction sector in both has mostly workers' movement because everyone has been waiting for this open door and visiting foreign countries and considering employment opportunities. Relief of employment procedures in the Schengen” area has also been created, Vranica said.
Vranica says workers may not return after free break.
“The workers are also taking a free and annual vacation somewhere between 10 and 20 thousand of the workers' movements, not only in the gastronomy sector, but out of all sectors are considering the possibilities they take off but could not return to the situation that we are”, Vranica told Front Online.
The average salary in gastronom is 350 euros, but not enough compared to inflation.
Vranica has demanded that the government subsidise businesses.
“350 euros is the average salary, there is an increase, but we need to keep in mind that the inflation rate is too high, essential products are expensive instead the wages that are raised are not enough. The state should use its mechanisms with the labour inspector, the market to make certain economic measures to subsidise businesses, there is no step with any actual strategy”, Vranica said.
