Ymer Ymer from the United Education, Science and Culture Union (SBASHK) has accused Prime Minister Albin Kurti of coming to power of waging a fierce struggle for the destruction of trade unions.
According to him, Kurti has not kept his words, since prior to taking office he has promised dialogue with trade unions, but has since held no single meeting, nor has he been co-operating.
In the meetings that we had before coming to power, maybe even at the beginning of the mandate of governance, we unions said it was good for us to come here because the same program. The promises he has given him and said that for each decision he will co-operate, he will be together and give ideas, in reality when he received the mandate the opposite happened. He never met unions. He did the opposite of what he said, said he would not talk to Serbia, but spoke. He said he would talk to the unions, but he didn't, he even fought hard to destroy the” unions, he said.
Ymer has said the current government is trying to intimidate and divide educational workers.
“The state prime minister needs to worry too much if only one hour is lost from learning in all of Kosovo, not five weeks. The first should be the prime minister's concern and have co-operation, he has never expressed co-operation readiness. By fear and attempted division, you cannot influence educational workers. This government has done the opposite of what it has said, why should we? Since the strike so far we have met twice with the minister of education. With the prime minister we've never had a meeting, there's probably been BSPK's chairman, At and Hykoki, but there's never been a score of”, he's been put away.
For the 55-euro salary increase since January, Ymer has said it is insufficient and humiliating for workers.
The 55-euro gross growth of January is not enough. In addition to countries in the region where growth, for example, in Albania has been 300-350 euros, the 55 euro increase is humiliating to workers”, he has said.
