KFOR has announced that Turkish troops from KFOR reserves have completed their deployment to the NATO-led mission.
“They will replace units launched by Italy”, the peacekeeping mission announced in a media communique.
About 350 personnel -- from the 65th mechanised Turkish infantry brigade -- will carry out a series of activities, along with KFOR troops, and will be employed in response to any important development in the security situation”, the communiques say.
KFOR says it has good <x0-sources and well-admitted facilities to prevent any possible risk of escalation and to address any security scenarios, in line with its long mandate of UN”.
KFOR remembers at the end that it continues to implement its mandate to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially, and that it works in close co-ordination with Kosovo Police and EULEX, the European Union's Mission for Rule of Law in Kosovo.
