US President-elect Donald Trump has warned that former chief prosecutor of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office Jack Smith will return to the Special Court in The Hague.
In a recent NBC interview, Trump specifically spoke of Smith, who had been appointed a year earlier to oversee criminal investigations against him.
In our country's history, nothing like this ever happened. And I've won these cases. I've won it all and the rest are in the process of winning. Crazy Jack Smith is returning to The Hague where he can execute people. He was supposed to stay here. I think he's dangerous even there”, the president-elect said.
Trump recalled Smith's accusations, while he said that perhaps he helped him win a convincing victory in the presidential election.
“Probably helped me because I got the biggest vote, the most votes a Republican ever got in history”.
Asked if he would like to investigate attorney Jack Smith, Donald Trump said: “well, I think he's very corrupt, but I want her to do whatever she's 11x1>, referring to Pam Bond, the woman he nominated for general prosecutor.
The reporter's insistence on whether Bond would influence Smith to be prosecuted, Trump replied that he would not give instructions.
She's a very smart person. She's a great attorney general in Florida. She's very experienced. I want her to do what she wants to do. I will not guide him to do this, not”
Smith is the prosecutor who accused them of war crimes and crimes against humanity of former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders. Former President Hashim Thaci, former Prime Ministers Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, and former President Rexhep Selimi are still being held in the custody of the Special Court on the basis of that indictment.
Former commanders and former KLA soldiers remain in custody at The Hague on similar charges. Some have already been convicted.
