Newly elected US President Donald Trump has named British television producer Mark Burnett as his special envoy to the United Kingdom.
It becomes known that the Burnett created and worked together with Trump in the American film The Appeal.
He has also worked on performances known as Sharp Tank, The Voice and Suvivor, writes Skynews.
In a statement, Trump said: “it is a great honour to appoint Mark Burnett as the special envoy to the United Kingdom”.
“With a prominent career in television production, Mark brings about a unique mix of diplomatic sharpness and international recognition for this important” role, he added.
According to the statement, the Burnett will work to improve diplomatic relations, focusing on areas of common interest, such as trade, investment and cultural exchange.
Otherwise, this appointment comes after Trump named businessman Warren Stephens to serve as US ambassador to the United Kingdom.
