Two people from Kosovo have been convicted of fraud of commercial size by the Luserni Criminal Court. They used lies to take money from a priest and deceived him by taking over 300,000 francs.
One of the accused, 38-year-old ivalido pensioner, has been sentenced to 20 months in effective prison, broadcasts albinfo.ch. According to the court, he deceived the priest by taking him a hundred “wa” worth 150,000 francs between 2014 and 2018. Because of his addiction to gambling, he must also undergo ambulance treatment.
His associate, also 38 years old and heavily indebted, was sentenced to 27 months in prison on bail. He had borrowed from the priest twenty times, worth a total of 165 thousand francs, and was involved in many of the frauds.
As the newspaper “Zofinger Tagblatt” reports, frauds put the priest under pressure during their confession. The disabled pensioner had complained that he had large debts and was threatened with prison. He complained that he needed money to visit ailing relatives in Kosovo.
The second defendant appeared in 2017. At first he had simply driven his associate, but soon he had begun to seek “Beech” from the priest, conveys albinfo.ch. His argument was that he wanted to start his plaster business.
The court has confirmed that the priest had been naive, initiated by his own mission, but that he could not be charged with joint responsibility.
The judgments are not yet cut because the convicts have filed complaints. It was also decided that the two would be expelled from Switzerland for several years.
