SPAK investigation, Veliaj: I support every step of investigation

Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj has reacted to investigations the SPAK is conducting against him.

After the raid on his apartment, he said he welcomed the investigation.

In his account in “Facebook”, Veliaj wrote that I will support this investigation at every step.

“Taking advantage of today's developments, the procedural steps conducted by the special prosecution concerning the property investigation being conducted against me and my family, not only are they welcome, but I also support them at every step. It has been a long time since my investigation and trial make the opposition mired in corruption and “the so-called media”, which fights any official public official who does not succumb to their pressures and blackmail for unjust profit”, Veliaj wrote.

He has suggested he will be open to any investigation.

My former family members and I, as citizens of this country, but also in the quality of the mayor of Tirana, will always be open to every act and decision of the institutions of justice, but scorning all untruths simultaneously, aimed at damaging my image and my family, as well as spreading, above all, disinformations on the very work of these institutions. I am not part of that old political tape that, for a long time, put themselves above the law, on justice and institutional accountability”, he has praised.
