According to the organisation, the Israeli Army is responsible for the deaths of 18 journalists this year -- 16 in Gaza and two in Lebanon.
According to the report, Palestinian territory is the most dangerous for journalists, as there has been the highest figure of journalists killed in the past five years.
The organisation has said it has sent four consultations to the International Criminal Tribunal for “war crimes committed against journalists on the part of the Israeli Army”.
According to her, “more than 145” journalists have been killed by the Israeli Army in Gaza since the start of the war in October 2023, and 35 of them have been working at the time they were killed.
The organisation has described the number of murders as “unprecedented bleeding”.
In a separate report, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has said 104 journalists were killed in 2024, more than half of them in Gaza.
The figures of the two organisations differ because they have used different methodologies to calculate the killings.
Reporters Without Borders have included on the list only journalists who have proven that their death has been linked to professional activity.
Israel has denied deliberately killing journalists, but has acknowledged that some may have been killed as a result of air strikes.
After Gaza, the deadliest place for journalists in 2024 was Pakistan, later Bangladesh and Mexico.
By December 1st, 550 journalists are in prisons in the world, according to Reporters Without Borders.
The three countries with the largest number of imprisoned journalists are China, Myanmar and Israel. / REL
