Prime Minister Edi Rama held this late-year conference with journalists on Monday, where he gave a brief comment and on the investigation into Mayor Erion Veliaj.
Rama stressed in his speech that he condemns public agreement that has been made to Tirana mayor.
The government chief said there is no comment on the investigation, how long is a matter under way, but underlined that the quest for guillotine for Veliaj's execution in media clubs is scandalous.
I temporarily know that Erion Veliaj is affected by family life by the public trial made not by the relevant institutions, but by all those engaged in that trial. He is affected by dignity by prosecutors and judges sitting in media clubs or hiding behind the screens of portals and social networks, and he knows for sure. As for the rest, there's no exception to what I've said since the beginning, I don't comment on issues pertaining to justice institutions. I don't comment until today, that might change, when that changes, there should be a stronger reason and I will share it with you. I can comment on a decision of definite form, as I have made about a genocide slanderer for a decision that has been one of the most welcome decisions for me in this country where slander has become king and truth has become a slave. As far as concrete cases are concerned, there is no exception.
The mayor's public commitment is disgusting and his quest for guillotine is scandalous. These are the comments, more than I have”, Rama said.
