Rama: We are co-operating with Kosovo to unify textbooks for diaspora

Prime Minister Edi Rama stressed that the government's mission is to preserve language and cultural identity in the diaspora. At the annual meeting of the Diaspora Co-ordination Council, Rama said they are co-operating with the Kosovo government for the unification of textbooks for diaspora and digitalisation. “Saving language and cultural identity is indisputing part of the mission [...]
The preservation of language and cultural identity is undisputed part of our mission as a nation, as a conscious citizen of this country, and as an institutional system and I am pleased that encouraging progress has been made in this respect as well. It needs to be done more as I am pleased that we have made significant steps even in co-operation with the government of Kosovo, from the unification of the abbeta, with textbooks for unified diaspora, working on the digitalisation and free access of all children and teachers in the diaspora to advanced technology programmes and to the distribution of textbooks.55 thousand texts distributed this year are no small if we're taken into account, this not an extraordinary figure when we consider how many children in the diaspora. The teaching programme for Greece is opening a new chapter in access to the need for teachers of Albanian communities in the diaspora.
Officially registered, we have 20 thousand children taking lessons in the Albanian language courses that we attend, but there are many other courses that are not registered, that we have not received knowledge and that I take advantage of the case to invite everyone to let the institutions of relevant existence know. We have established a registry of teachers in diaspora and a database for students I believe there is a lot of room to improve”, Rama said.
