Police Director Hoxha: New arrests for terrorist attack in Varrag can be expected

Kosovo Police Director Gazmend Hoxha told RTK that there may be new arrests in connection with the recent terrorist attack on the water channel Iber Lepencão.

The Constitutional Court in Pristina has assigned 30 days to detention for J.V, which is the second suspect in the attack on the channel of '%ber-Lepencit, at the Varragga in Zubin Potok.

Meanwhile, the situation in the north of the country remains fragile after this attack. successive attacks by criminal groups in the country's four northern municipalities -- and in particular the attack on critical infrastructure -- has caused police to increase security measures.

New arrests can be expected. Kosovo police every day are analyzing any information they possess and those that may come and depending on the investigations they are becoming may also have new raids and new arrests”, Hoxha said.

He said they currently have no signals for any new attacks on the country's north, however, has expressed police readiness for intervention, with all its capacities.

We hope we don't, but if there is, we're there to answer. We have made all our capacities available to our country's security, in particular to the country's north”, he added.

Kosovo police, according to Hoxha, have real co-operation with KFOR and EULEX, until he added that EULEX was present during the raids police conducted there until KFOR monitors the situation on the borders and, together with police, have increased presence even along the channel of cyber-Lepencis.
