President Vjosa Osmani has criticised the European Union, which is not removing Kosovo's measures until it has raised its voice to Brussels' approach to Serbia, rewarding it, even though it has not harmonised foreign policy with the EU.
The message we're receiving in Kosovo is that the more you position with Russia, the more you position yourself with Iran, with China, the more progress you make, the more collapses and close chapters. And if on the other side you're harmonised 100 percent with the EU, such as Kosovo, there is no progress for you. This is the message that the people of Kosovo are receiving, and this has nothing to do with the process based on” has said Osmani before foreign media journalists in Brussels.
Asked by those that “what European officials are telling you about these remarks, Osmani said there is no response from them.
“We are not getting answers to this constant question we are asking, and we do not want to discuss domestic issues in Serbia, because it is their issue. But, of course, we're talking about the constant acts of aggression Serbia has committed against the Republic of Kosovo, which is completely contrary to the principles of international law, decentralisation of neighbours so it is against the principle of good neighbourly demand required by the EU” Osmani has said.
Last month we had an attack on our critical infrastructure by the gangs of Serbia aimed at 70 per cent of the Kosovo people without water, without electricity and without heat in mid-winter. Of course, this reminds you of Russian attacks in Ukraine in midwinter. And when this is happening, and until Serbia, according to the Council's conclusions, has failed to account for last year's attacks on Kosovo and NATO, they are being rewarded” has stressed Osman.
It has added that the credit-based policy must be applied to everyone in the region.
“and, of course, anyone who took credit-based steps has to move forward, not putting aside what we are doing in the rule of law, in democracy and all the other reforms that are being done in Kosovo, while in countries like Serbia what they do is attacking neighbours and then coming to the EU and talking about European integration”, Osmani said.
