The opposition criticises the VV, which is holding the session in the Assembly at night: Cirque, parliamentary rash, collapse of democracy

The MEPs of the Vetevendosje (LVV) Movement are continuing the work in Parliament during the night of December 5th, without the presence of any opposition MP.

The move has prompted sharp reactions from the opposition and civil society, which have described this act as a “puc parliamentary” and violations of democratic practices.

Kosovo Democratic Party deputy (PDK), Ganimete Musliu, inaugurated the situation by recalling former statements by Prime Minister Albin Kurti on night sessions.

“Cirque in the Kosovo Assembly is continuing in these late hours. At 10: 15 p.m., I have an invitation that the committee meeting begins at 10:10 a.m.

Faithful Tahiri, chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo parliamentary group (AAK), called the situation “parliamentary Vuc” and accused the VV of avoiding the rules of the Parliament.

“The parliamentary pimp and the collapse of democracy are happening tonight!

The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo must respect regular procedures to call parliamentary sessions. Avoiding normal parliamentary logic at night, without any urgency, is a parliamentary stamp and a contradiction of the Law without the consultations it is obliged to make the Parliament”, Tahiri wrote.

Ismet Kryeziu, director of the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), commented that the work of the Assembly at midnight creates the impression of a <x1-and-Soccer version where only one team plays on the field, without opponents”.
