Over 12m euros have reached travel and telecommunications expenses of state institutions for only nine months of this year, from January to September respectively.
According to the Ministry of Finance's nine-month financial report, travel expenditures during January-September 2024 have reached 8.44m euros, which are for 17 % higher than in the same period last year.

Juda Balje: It's very serious, competent institutions should control government spending
MP Duda Balje has commented on government spending on travel and telecommunications.
She stressed that, compared to the Parliament, the government has more opportunities and freedoms in realising spending, but expressed confidence that spending is made for good and justified reasons.
There's a lot of difference between the government and the government that we're limited we can't do any spending outside of the Parliament's regulation and for Government, but I want to believe they have days of what they're doing and rationally have spent serious sums, she said.
Balje added that she has not been part of the government and that she is unaware of the details of these expenditures, but believes they have been carried out, as it says, in Kosovo's interest.
I'm also expecting VVs that have days of what they're doing and I want to believe that all expenses have been with logical reasoning. It's very serious, I've been part of the government and I don't know how much they have to spend.
MP Balje appealed that competent institutions conduct a detailed audit to verify whether the expenditures are done fairly and reasonably.
The competent institutions must control all of these to know if they have a right to do so.
Shala: The costs of Kurti Government are 30% higher than those of past governments
MP The PDK, Ferat Shala, criticised the Government for increasing public money spending, stressing that official statistics show a significant increase in these expenditures, respectively, 25-30% higher than past governments, adding that it is contradictory with Government propaganda, which had criticised previous governments' spending.
Official statistics show that the government has raised the level of public money spending where the same came to power by making great propaganda that past governments have spent off the actual norm that 25-30% are higher expenditures than previous governments, Shala said.
Shala called this increase in spending unreasonable, stressing that they are not justified by international diplomatic reasons or economic problems.
These are unreasonable and do not result in the international diplomatic arena, either with economic problems or with the potential Shala.
According to the PDK deputy, these expenditures have not brought concrete results for improving the situation and that they have been used for walking political staff and government, without any tangible benefit.
The government spent, but it didn't work. We've spent money, but the result of political staff walks and the government's after us ended Shala for FrontOnline.
Rukiqi accuses Government of continuing government luxury without profit for the country
LDK Headship member Berat Rukiqi, for FrontOnline, has criticised the Kurti Government for its travel and telecommunications spending, saying it has created great expectations for changes but has failed to produce visible results.
This Government has created great expectations, he said.
He stressed that the government has come to power with criticism of government luxury, but according to him, no substantial change has been made in this direction.
He came with criticism of government luxury, it's not like something changed, Rukiqi said.
Rukiqi called this situation even more problematic because, as he put it, such expenditures have brought no concrete results, neither in foreign policy nor in promoting strategic investments that were expected to contribute to the country's development.
Of course it becomes even more problematic that it is not a result, neither of foreign policy, nor of promoting strategic investments that would have to be brought to the country. /FrontOnline.
