Miftarian: Special Court arrests are meaningless

Miftaraj has indicated that information that had witnessed preventing the administration of justice from such individuals was insufficient to support such a decision.

Miftaraj has stressed that, at this stage of the judicial process, it is meaningless to see such arrests. He acknowledges that the law does not prohibit such an act, but Miftaraj hopes that the prosecution's frustration has not influenced the recent actions taken by the Special Court.

On the other hand, he has said that the judicial process is going towards the end, stressing that the outcome with defence witnesses could bring a “liberation” for both Kosovo and the defendants.

He stressed that a conclusion of this process -- at least in the first degree -- would be an important step to justice.

Otherwise, the Special Prosecutor on Friday has arrested the former head of the Malisheva municipality, Isni Kilaj, former AKI chief Bashkim Smaj and Fadil Fazliu, brother of martyrs Fahri and Bahri Fazliu.
