Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi, on the Dabbat Plus show, has spoken and shown why Bedri Hamza is the right man for Kosovo to be at the helm of her government.
Krasniqi has also indicated why he has not run for prime minister, but has entrusted this to Hamza.
Likewise, Krasniqi has reaffirmed that Kosovo deserves Bedri Hamza for prime minister.
I believe that in other cases after my nomination of Bedriu as candidate for prime minister, and I fully believe that he will be the next prime minister, I have tried to explain. It gets even more involved in this video that I've cut off from the day when my co-partisans have given me confidence to lead the Democratic Party of Kosovo, and above all, I'm giving a short answer, because I'm convinced as I was before I told Bedriu, that Bedri Hamza is the best prime minister Kosovo could have today. The PDK, as you said, went through a difficult phase in 2020-2021 and to me more as I said and I continue to believe the same as I said on July 3rd 2021, it was more responsible than the ambition of being head of the PDK. And I've asked for more faith than just one mandate, and I've asked for this belief because I believed that in the new chapter in which I had to lead the PDK it should be the reflection chapter against what happened. And as a party, we've always reflected and acted accordingly, we believe the needs of the times both at the founding of the party and in 2007 before the proclamation of independence, whether in 2014, when we had a drop in local elections, and the pledge even in 2021 when we experienced, I freely say a political trauma following former Prime Minister Veselin, President Thaci, Mr Krasniqi, Selimi, and others's arrest. So even in the first few days I had to name and approve the new Headship, I wanted to have the trust of my partners for which I thank everyone publicly, because I wanted to start a new chapter, which, as I said, respects the heritage and the past, but the focus is on the future. It wasn't easy to face local elections just a few months after the research you referred to, where we were even worse than the results of the 2021, according to that research, and it wasn't probably easy to convince even membership, leadership, officials and branches that we had to carry out a different campaign where there should be no great protagonism and national them, but the focus of candidates and their local offerings. But then, even for the entire period of opposition and the way of opposition to even Bediriu's nomination. Kosovo, the people of Kosovo, is sufficiently divided and polarised, and this is the effect of policies and narration of the completely wrong discurs, primarily of the Vetevendosje Movement and of Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
And not only as long as he was in government, and especially as in the opposition. And I believe that we have to get out of the trap of popularism that has been installed and even the nationalism that the country's prime minister has raised in this phase and return to topics that really interest Kosovo families, their day-to-day threats that are related to the cost of living, the price raising, with the status economy, the health of coughing in the public sector, with degraded education, and also the removal of the people of especially young and Kosovo professionals. And I believe that a man like Bedri Hamza, witnessed not only in public life, at the time when he knows the broader opinion as finance minister twice, the deputy minister before him, as BQK governor, today also as Mitrovica's leader, but also the fact that everywhere he acted, starting as one of the new time professionals in Trepca, then in the private sector, in the years of hard years, in the 1990s, as one of the leaders of the Mitrovica municipality, immediately after the war, and this part of the biography they all know, that has been a man, honest, professional, and professional, and one who has always led with his own professional hands, and they're able to say, and they've been able to have been able to do it.
