Kosovo's government has signed an agreement Monday with Turkish state-run defence industry producer Makine ve Kimya Endustrisis, for the establishment of an ammunition factory in Kosovo.
Macedonia said the focus of the agreement has been the ammunition factory, according to him it will be done with financing from the Kosovo government, while equipment will be provided by the Turkish state.
We have signed the contract, and after the signing, work begins on operating this factory. It will be a public company that will manage the entire factory, and the main goal will have the production of 5.56 and 7.62 ammunition, these used by investigative units and military units, and which are the ammunition that are mostly spent during operations, but also during training”, Macedonia said.
He stressed that production will be done not only for the supply of local institutions but also for export.
