He has stressed that, after 12 years of efforts and accusations that the airport turned into a lost asset, he has today managed to become a profitable company that brings great profits to Kosovo.
According to Limaj, Pristina Airport has become a more valuable asset to the country, bringing over 30m euros in profits annually -- a figure that will reach up to 500m euros during the 20-year period of contract.
“Today Kosovo has these two majors, and many other projects. We're starting with the airport, for 12 years citizens have been exposed to the slanders and frauds that the airport has been sold, privatised, destroyed as they have said. We are already witnesses, having a modern airport that operates and brings benefits to Kosovo than Trepca once did. Currently today the only company and the only direct foreign investment in Kosovo is the airport, which benefits Kosovo at least 30 million per year. It was meant to be over 400m euros from the flow, and the volume of circulation will exceed 500 million, and this is a contract for 20 years, and eight years have remained and returns to Kosovo. It's a direct international investment, with zero cents from the state. Over 100m euros in the terminal, Kosovo gets about 500m euros and eventually returns to Kosovo. This is a contract that makes you proud. When I got it, the airport had to be given 12 million euros in surgery. And today it has returned to the profitable company, Kosovo's budget is packed every year with 30m euros”, Limaj said in Debat Plus.
