Prime Minister Albin Kurti has talked about government achievements in about four years of government.
He has talked about economic growth and lowering public debt.
“Eonomia has marked greater and solid growth. In the last three years, we've had economic growth of 6.36 people on average, gross domestic products. At the same time we've lowered public debt, we haven't had a future economic growth by increasing the debt, but our debt has gone down to a level of 17 % or to a quarter smaller than we've found”, Kurti said before MPs.
Kurti said the economy is seven times higher now than in 2000, when the country had just emerged from the devastating war with Serbia.
In Kosovo we have the testimony that we should be internationally proud of, that both liberation and independence, and freedom and democracy are well worth it. Since the gross domestic product of our country for this year is seven times higher than in 2000, which is the first year after the liberation. Of course, we compare to 1999, because of genocide and the destruction of war. Let's compare to 2020. Excuse me, year 2000, year after release. So in 2024, compared with the year 2000, our country's economy is seven times higher. But compared with 2008, when independence is declared, the economy is three times larger than it was then. Compared to the first year before the 2019 pandemic, it's 50% higher”, Kurti said.
On the other hand, it has stated that 80 thousand new jobs were created during this time.
