In public, Kurti is announcing that voter registration outside Kosovo will end on December 26thBut backstage he's doing the opposite.
Periscop learns from sources within the CEC that Vetevendosje is putting great pressure on this institution to extend the deadline for several days.
Vetevendosje requirements are contrary to the election regulation for registering voters outside Kosovo, which they have approved in the CEC itself.
Under this regulation, the period of voter registration outside Kosovo starts shortly after the publication of the Voter's Pre-Promitary List and ends no later than 45 days before election day.
The change of this deadline would jeopardise the process of registering voters outside Kosovo, as the census to vote outside a legal deadline could reject those registered with an eventual complaint.
Postponing legal deadlines carries the risk of the process being complained by any party.
In view of this fact, the CEC had not dared to push for any other day after December 11th.
The CEC had dared to extend the deadline for only another 8 hours, from 4: 00 p.m. to 23:59 on December 11th.
