Prime Minister Albin Kurti, during his stay in Sarajevo, has placed flowers at the Sarajevo Children's Memorial. Kurti there recalled the lost lives of children killed by Serbian forces during the siege of Sarajevo.
“I started my visit to Sarajevo by placing flowers in the Memorial of Killed Sarajevo Children surrounded by a country of deep grief and memory. During the siege of Sarajevo (1992)1996), 1,601 children were killed as part of the worst atrocities committed during the Bosnian war by Serb forces. This tragic figure has been memorized here, reminding us of lives lost innocent and horrors caused on civilians”, Kurti wrote on X, reports Express.
But with him on the visit were also seen Deputy Prime Minister Emilja Rexhepi and Kosovo Ambassador to Croatia Martin Berisha.
Although Kurti has also invited him to his visit to Bosnia, Berisha had been ignored by President Vjosa Osmani during her official stay in Croatia.
Slovenian media had uncovered a financial scandal, reporting that Ambassador Berisha was involved in an affair allegedly laundering money.
Kurti in Sarajevo has met with two members of Bosnia and Herzegovina's tripartite presidency. He held separate meetings in the Bosnian Presidency with Croatian member Zelko Komsic and Bosniak Denis Becirovic.
The presidency after the meeting thanked Kurti for the unilateral decision to abolish visas for Bosnia's citizens, although this decision has been mutual. For this reason, Komsic said it is Kosovo's extraordinary move.
