At a Kosovo Government meeting held Wednesday, Kurti has said it has been possible after changing the law.
“will total 22 mailbox boxes, in 22 different states. While physical voting will be organised in 35 diplomatic and consular representations in 22 states”, he has indicated.
Kurti has called on the license to register for voting rights abroad, while remembering that the deadline is open until December 26th.
I'm addressing our charter, from the Government meeting, because their vote has been determining the composition of this government. As has been its determining contribution to the fate and welfare of our country over the years”, it has been expressed.
“Ving through domestic mail, and at the consulate embassy, is a big victory for our patriotic and labor license”, Kurti said.
According to the prime minister, “so far, unjustly, the exile has faced bureaucratic difficulties and financial burden, which has at times unable to vote, and has at times discouraged voter turnout”.
The Kosovo diaspora is mainly concentrated in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and other European countries.
According to data from the Kosovo Statistics Agency, the number of Kosovo citizens living abroad by the end of 2018 has been over 850,000.
Although political parties in Kosovo have been starting meetings and gatherings with the Kosovo diaspora for weeks, but also with citizens within Kosovo, with the Central Election Commission regulation, the election campaign period starts 30 days before election day.
In the concrete case, according to the CEC, the election campaign period for political parties and certified candidates for participation in the February 9th elections officially begins on January 11th, 2025.
The CEC has indicated that 28 political subjects have applied for certificate of participation in the February 9th parliamentary elections.
According to a media report, after the official deadline closes, among 28 political subjects there are 20 political parties, five coalitions, two civic initiatives and an independent candidate, the REL reports.
Among the subjects are Albanian parties, the Serb community, and other smaller communities in Kosovo.
The CEC must confirm its lists by December 25th.
The February 9th elections will be the first regular parliamentary elections to be organised in Kosovo since the declaration of independence in 2008.
