Kosovo, Albania asylum requirements remain high

Citizens from Albania and Kosovo continue to lead by a clear margin that other Balkan region countries for asylum demands in European Union countries. According to the European Agency for Asylum data (EUAA) during September of this year, 586 new requests [...] were submitted.
According to the European Agency for Asylum's latest data (EUAA) during September of this year, 586 new asylum requirements were submitted from Albania and 584 requests from Kosovo.
The number of asylum requests of Albanian citizens from Kosovo and Albania during the month of September is markedly higher compared to other countries in the region, where from Northern Macedonia are submitted to one of the European Union's 286 asylum requirements -- from Serbia 252, from Bosnia and Herzegovina 252 and from Montenegro only 46 requests.
The number of asylum applications of Albanian citizens in European countries in the first nine months of this year has gone to about 5,500.
From the data released earlier by the European Agency for Asylum about 2700 requests by citizens from Albania gathered over the past year are pending to be reviewed.
The asylum requirements of Albanian citizens in the highest number follow in the two neighbouring countries of Italy and Greece, but also in France and Germany.
