The Kosovar Power Distribution Company in Kosovo (KEDS) has announced that all preparations have been completed to provide electricity during the weekend holidays.
According to the announcement, part of this year's plan is the implementation of approximately 280 power grid upgrade projects, including summer maintenance, aimed at increasing system sustainability.
KEDS has urged consumers to save energy, especially for electricity heating.
They are encouraged to use alternative heating options and to contribute to network load reductions to facilitate the situation for all.
To ensure that consumers have lights during the holidays, KEDS has engaged about 1,000 workers and 135 machines, including various vehicles and heavy machinery.
Their work will be supported by 68 vehicles, 31 platforms, 16 heavy machinery and 4 vehicles for cable detection.
Among the main challenges, KED has highlighted the Ferizaj, Gjakova, Rahoveci, Prizren and Gjilan regions, which have faced overloads caused by high energy demand.
In Malisheva, the implementation of the super forwarders has doubled capacity and improved the situation compared to past years.
