Srdjan Lazovic, charged with war crimes, has been acquitted on war crimes charges before Pristina's Foundation Court
Special Prosecutor Kastriot Memaj, while reading the indictment, said the defendant along with other unidentified members of Serbian forces during 1998 and 1998 has committed war crimes in the village of Panorc of the Malishev municipality, has conducted arrest, and unlawful bans, deportation, imprisonment and mistreatment along with other members of Serbian forces.
At Malisheva's Panorc, according to prosecution Lazovic in co-ordination, has abused about 500 Albanian men -- residents of Panorci -- who were not involved in the conflict at the village school. Following the siege of the attack on the village, as prosecutor Memaj said, Serb forces attacked the village and then expelled the civilian population and burned all the village houses.
The prosecution's indictee also participated in the plunder of civil population property.
Lazovic, who lived in Leposaviq prior to his detention, pleaded innocent.
“I do not accept any indictment or guiltyness”, the accused said.
Judge Vesel Ismaili obliged the prosecution to grant protection even to the protected D1 witness's statement in read-out form and instructed him to file complaints within 30 days against the indictment and evidence.
