Ibrahimi, unhappy with co-operation between the AKK and Kurti Government

The head of the Kosovo Communists Association (AKK), Saban Ibrahimi, has expressed concern for uneven support for municipalities on the part of the Kosovo Government, stressing that the demands submitted by mayors are often neglected. On the “show, speak with Arin” on Radio Klan Kosova, he said this year has marked an outstanding inequality in the division of budgetary means from the ministries of the line, stressing that some municipalities have received over 100 euros per head, while others have not even two euros.
“We have municipalities that have been allocated this year by financial means from the ministry of the line have received over 100 euros per capita, but we have municipalities that have not received even two euros per capita, Ibrahimi said, adding that the AKK requires the establishment of the 4th grant for capital investments, which was promised by the Vetevendosje Movement during the pre-election campaign.
“We are seeking the establishment of the 4th grant for capital investments, because it has been the promise of Vetevendosje Movement in the pre-election” campaign, he said.
He has also raised concerns about “financial bleeding”, which according to him is being caused by collective contracts in municipalities, citing that some municipalities have spent more through supervisors and lawyers, further burdening local budgets.
In a municipality, if teachers belong to 240 thousand euros for collective contracts through judicial conclusion, lawyers, the cost of 240 thousand euros is being made 360 thousand euros, and this 120 thousand euros, or 50% of total value, is being obtained by Kosovar taxpayers. We have established this in the government, but in parliament we have after discussion with Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca, who we have explained in detail this financial bloodshed but no steps are taken by the government and by parliament”, he said.
Ibrahimi has stressed that, despite this, Kosovo municipalities are good examples of successful transparency and co-operation with past governments, while criticising the lack of co-operation with the current government.
With past governments we have been co-operating, we may not have been very present in the media because we have sat down and discussed and solved problems, but with this government it is a problem of co-operation. That's why, the problems we've raised a few years ago in this government, such as the 4th grant, the Ministry of Public Procurement, the collective contracts, so these were issues that weren't solved”, the potential Ibrahimi.
