“Gylenists”, Appeals returns to retrial the former AKI chief's subject sentenced to imprisonment from the first instance, Driton Gashi

The Court of Appeals has turned the course of former AKI Chief Driton, Gashi, who was sentenced in July 2023 to 4 years and 8 months in prison by the Constitutional Court in Pristina on charges of misusing official office in the case of “Gylenists”. In this case, Gashi is accused of directly engaging in the expulsion of 6 Turkish citizens from Kosovo by violating legal procedures.

“APROVOWED on the basis of the complaint of defendant D.G., lawyer F.L., so that the Pristina Constitutional Court's act of the Special Department, SP.nr.8/21, dated 07.09.2023, at point I. of his device, as far as criminal work is concerned, the abuse of official position or authority by Article 422 par.1 of KPRK, against accused D.G., is cancelled, and this part of the bias turns into retrial and retrial”, is said in the Apel Act, released on December 13th, 2024, provided by “Betim for Justice<3>.
