Edi Rama: Special Commission, Albania's permanent framework mechanism to EU membership

Prime Minister Edi Rama today declared that Albania's Parliament is the institution that can gather all institutions about the country's quick EU integration mission, and which can ensure that citizens of the Republic of Albania, who serve all these institutions, are guaranteed that no institution betrays them in their expectations to see the EU member Albania.

We don't have time to lose or wait for those who have another agenda, another plan that they don't care about membership, even for the simple reason they want to do it themselves. And returning to the time and fundamental reason for creating the Anti-corruption Commission, in 700 pages of analysis, there is no word for justice and judicial power, I'm telling you that for Albania to join the EU, it must perform at the same speed, with the same conviction and the same efficiency”, Rama said at the “summit. Albania 2030 on the EU-road Reforms”.

The government of the Republic of Albania can't even tell you why they didn't. But at the negotiating table, the EU does not negotiate with the government, but with Albania. The government has its share, but the question arises: What is the institution in this Republic that can gather all around this mission and can ensure that citizens of the Republic of Albania who all serve these institutions are guaranteed that no institution betrays them in their expectations to see EU members Albania. There is only one institution and no one else, and this is Albania's Parliament, which is for its constitutional nature the only institution that has the right and duty of calling everyone, even in its own process, naturally to look for and do the resolution, raise problems, reveal and claim, and even demand accounts. This is the institution that can ensure that the process is harmonised, transparent and the process has the accounting element of all institutions”, he said.

Rama stressed the need for co-ordination among institutions.

“If we want 855 measures related to the rule of law, where 59 %s of duty has judicial power and have justice institutions, the Republic of Albania succeeds, we don't discuss here at all, but everyone agrees that we should co-ordinate, and harmonise the activity of the Albanian state, so that our progress towards the outcome of negotiations is uniform”, he added.

He further stressed today that “The work of the Special Parliamentary Commission “for deepening reforms for good governance, rule of law and anti-corruption for Albania 2030 in the European Union” is fundamental and must be supported by all powers and should advance its work”.

Government head says “to make it possible through this mechanism that is involved in this process to perform to the extent of the ambition we have proclaimed that it is “Albania in the EU in 2030. Otherwise we can't do this. This is impossible”

“The tasks must be done is extraordinary and the EU does not forgive anything. It gives nothing when it comes to standards and criteria that a state must meet there is neither geopolitical nor war, nor crisis of any nature that can make the EU say because these things are happening, let us close our eyes on these things. This is so true that even Ukraine, which has all this enormous support when it comes to steps to become a member of the EU, will take steps one step for one and will not become a member of the EU as they ask for EU standards and criteria”, Rama said.
