The EURO show inT7 has discussed increasing the cost of living in Kosovo in the past four years and facing citizens at these prices.
University professor Shkumbin Misini, commenting on the current government's four-year job, said that this government from its slogan “Krejt and towards” has moved to “Cret and deform”.
According to him, our country needs deep reforms in fiscal policy.
“Vetvendosje Movement has voted out the other parties' disappointmentrs, because they were already disappointed by all parties for the created situation. Citizens have been waiting for these to take concrete action in fiscal policies that would facilitate their lives and for these non-expertions that the government is normally responsible. Central Bank data reports that inflation for these years in general has been over 20%, which has weighed the lives of over” citizens, Missini said.
While overall for the past three years the inflation rate has been above 20% there are many products where their price has risen to 60%, and mainly these are basic consumer basket products.
If we take it as statistics for basic products, the price of sunflower oil has increased by 61.7%, then sugar for 71%, flour for 51%, so the average price rate for basic products is about 61%. The quality of life citizens had in 2020 has been much better than today. That means if you had a 1,000-euro salary in 2020, their value as a result of inflation today is 400 Euro”, Missini added.
According to Professor Misin, the lives of Kosovo citizens over the past four years have deteriorated even more as a result of the increase in electricity prices for 98% compared to 2020.
