Even though there are only five days until the deadline is complete, no political subject has submitted to the Central Election Commission the application for certificate participation in the election, nor the list of candidates' names for MPs.
The official deadline set by the CEC will be completed on Wednesday of next week, December 11th, at 1600.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has said that this deadline will not be changed.
Until December 11th, 2024, at 4: 00 p.m., political subjects (political parties, coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates) are due to hand over to the Central Election Commission their demands for a certificate of participation in the Kosovo Assembly elections to be held on February 9th 2025. Also, during this period, political subjects must also hand over their lists with the names of candidates for MPs. This period started on September 1st, but you can confirm that we have so far not accepted any application on the part of political subjects”, Elesi said.
Elez has indicated that the deadline set by the CEC is based on the General Election Law and as such cannot be changed.
It is the legal obligation for political subjects that their applications for certificate surrender up until 60 days before the elections. So the deadline set by the CEC for applying political subjects and handing over the candidate list for MPs is in line with the law and as such cannot be changed”, Elesi has said.
Days earlier, the CEC has indicated that in order to facilitate the application process, electronic platforms https://certification has been functional.kq-x.org/which will serve political subjects to submit their application online for certificate and candidate list for MPs for the Kosovo Assembly Elections.
All political parties currently registered in the Republic of Kosovo and declared coalitions, The CEC, through the Office for Recording, Certificate and Financial Control of Political Subjections (ZRCKFSP), has created and sent APUers through which they can access the platform and submit a certificate application and a list of candidates for MPs.
Also, The CEC, through the office, will also create "%s" for all political subjects (initiatives and independent candidates) seeking to apply for certificate of voter participation. / KP/
