In addition to the city, its surrounding villages are without electricity more than they do in the last 48 hours.
For these reduction problems, KEDS say this is happening because of increased electricity consumption.
KED spokesman Lulzim Krasniqi says overload is causing these troubles and some of the consumers are facing this, and even risking assets, leading to their burning.
“The excessive growth of electricity consumption has caused a series of overloads in many parts of Kosovo. Overload, as such, is causing trouble in some key areas. As a result, some of the consumers are facing the challenge of power supply, as they are risking assets and coming to burn them that, in turn, consumers are staying for a time without electricity until asset replacement, in certain cases including cables to transformer”, Krasniqi told Reporter.net.
But, according to him, even under these conditions, KEDS is reaching out to supply over 85 percent of the consumption constantly.
KED's spokesman in a statement for Online Reporter Journal.net called on citizens to make maximum energy savings, in particular to care for electricity heating so this situation can be dealt with more easily.
And even under these circumstances, we're able to supply over 95 percent of the consumers over and over again, as a result of continued online investments.
The consumption, which is reaching record levels of as high as 1500MW/h, which, compared to 2013, when KEDS had begun operating, was about 1000MW/h, in addition to being largely confronted by these investments, is being completely covered by local production and import, which is reaching up to 500 megawatts per hour.
