He claimed he did not mention Thaci as one of those who were members of the Central Staff and that he did not become part of the General Staff until 1998.
“Hashim Thaci for what I know is done after the KLA's operation as a member of Staff. It's about the meeting we've been after in Negrovc, but they really can't afford to protect their functions after he moved to Albania several times. But officially members of the General Staff were made at the end of 98 after the KLA operation”, Basota said.
After January 97, the witness said they don't know who wrote the KLA communiquettes but that before this period it was taken by Xhedin Gashi and Nait Hasani.
