Basota: I don't know if Kadri Wessel had a replacement in the General Staff.

Responding to prosecutor Matt Halling's questions, the witness said he didn't know whether Kadri Wessel had any substitutes in his position in the General Staff, reports “Justice Trust”.

I don't know if there's any Deputy Kadri Wessel behind it. Or there was someone who could fix it, I don't know. I don't know, and I don't remember. As long as there's no name I can't say anything to”, the witness said.

He said this after a document allegedly written by him was presented and was from a December 1998 meeting with the General Staff.

In the same document, the prosecutor said it was said at a “location. Luli” and over that name was a phone number.

This is not a document for me. It's not even a paper. There are no scriptures, phone numbers, years after the signing. I don't think this is an official document. KLA and otherwise it would be wrong. I don't know why I did it, but I probably did it somewhere in a book or something. This is more like it after the war. I can't tell”, the witness said.

His signature in that document according to the witness is in six places.

The Witness was also asked if he had attended a general staff meeting when it was discussed deserting Blerim Kuci.

It's a rumor that he is away from Kosovo without reporting to anyone, without giving a report somewhere he's leaving Kosovo. But that this document was written back then, I still can't keep up. Or was taken from some other document and it was later but I just can't remember.

As for Sylejman Selimi, he said he had met him during the war but had not discussed any issues of particular importance.

“Sylejman Selimi is only in charge of knowledge issues, and I don't believe it, but we're in charge.

It is noteworthy that Sokol Basota is represented by attorney Artan Kerkuni and documents presented to the witness so far were accepted in material evidence.

Otherwise, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, on September 30th, 2022, has handed over the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which consists of ten points of charges, where the latter are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On April 29th 2022, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office had handed over a amended indictment to Hashim Thaci, Kadri Wessel, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi, where four indictees have committed war crimes even in Gjilan, Budakov and Semtish.

On November 9th 2020, in their first appearances, Hashim Thaci's Jakup Krasniqi has been declared innocent of the charges placed on them. Wessel has also been declared in his presentation on November 10th, as has Rexhep Selimi on November 11th.

The incident against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi is confirmed on October 26, 2020.
