Democratic League of Kosovo MP Hykmete Bajrami has criticised the Government for reducing capital investments during this mandate.
In an interview, Bajrami stressed that central-level capital investments have been among the lowest since the declaration of independence, citing the 2023 budget as an example, where, although the budget has increased by one billion euros compared to last year, capital investments have remained the same.
The capital investments during this governing mandate have been among the lowest, due to Kosovo's declaration of independence, and we've posted several times that there is a deadlock, especially in central-level capital investments, while data from the finance ministers shows that when the overall budget was 1.8 billion euros in central-level capital investments in Kosovo has been 350m euros, in 2023 with a budget one billion more capital investments remain the same. This should be considered that in recent years we have had an inflation rate that is about 22 percent, which means that 2023 capital investments are much lower, compared with the real values of 2017-188x1>, Bajrami said.
According to Bajrami, this is disturbing, as there has been 22 percent high inflation, which has made 2023 real investments much lower than those in 2017-2018. / EO
