Artan Grubi withdraws from politics

DUI's organising secretary and ex-Sv. The prime minister, Artan Grubi, has withdrawn from politics and public life, Telegrafi reports Macedonia.

Personal Decisions in Service of Common Good

Dear citizens,

My entire public activity has been compromised for the equality of Albanians in northern Macedonia, for a region in peace and reconciliation, for full NATO integration, for a strategic partnership with the United States and for membership in the European Union. These are values that are not only my guide, but also the obligation I have always felt toward my country and my nation.

Our achievements, for which we are all witnesses, are not only the merit of my dedication and friends but also of our sincere and constant support from our friends in the United States and the European Union.
The fact that today Northern Macedonia is a member of NATO and has started membership talks with the European Union is clear evidence of this co-operation and shared commitment.

But the price of this commitment - a price that has always been in service of values and rights - has been serious for me and my family.

The great attacks over the years, misconceptions and unjust blows, have made me reflect on my role at this important moment for the country and its future.

Although the decision says this is not to condemn, but to promote behavioral improvement, I, before God, family, and friends, am as pure as tears, but with the intention of making the truth worse, which many of you already know, and not to be a political burden, have decided to withdraw from public life, and I have informed Mayor Ahmeti from the first day.

This is a difficult but necessary decision to save our family and preserve my personal and political integrity as well as to support the continuation of our leader's work and dedication, Ali Ahmeti.

Believe in his path, one that has been and remains the greatest hope for Albanians and all citizens of Northern Macedonia.
I always remain devoted to these values and will be at their side, as a citizen and a supporter of common good.

Ali Ahmeti said today he will not ask Grubi to withdraw from party positions, but he will do so on his own, as he is conscious and responsible.
