American officials: Most of the first drones in New Jersey are pilot aircraft

White House officials, The FBI and the National Security Department stressed at the weekend that many of the recent airlines in New Jersey and other states reported fears were normal pilot planes and that there is no evidence of any security threat [...]
An FBI official told reporters at a news conference that his agency is working with 50 local, state and federal partners to analyse added reports.
The official said less than 100 of the more than 5,000 reported images had resulted in further investigation and that all reported images of large vehicles were pilot aircraft.
He said no evidence has been found to show that there are large-scale activities [of pilot-free air systems]”.
The remaining cases are under way in intensive efforts to investigate, using radar interviews and analysis and intelligence, the official added.
“We cannot ignore images,” said the official. “We're doing our best to detect the origin of these activities with fear, but I think there's a reaction that has been somewhat exaggerated”.
In mid - November, a number of reports of threats in New Jersey's space began, which included Maryland, Massachusetts, and other countries.
They have attracted media attention and have promoted the creation of a Facebook page called “Mysterious Drons in New Jersey let's find a solution” with 56,000 internet members.
US President Joe Biden is receiving regular updates on the issue, said a White House official. / VOA
